Take all of the criticism that Starfield got and realize it's a fine line they have to walk. "More of the same Bethesda" to "not enough like their old games". They set out to make something brand new, it didn't hit with some, i'm 50/50 even though I have almost 150 hours in the game. It wasn't for everyone.

But I don't feel any trepidation when it comes to Fallout and Elder Scrolls. They'll do just fine with those.

Also....I wish they would be able to get away from Microsoft. They're just poison to any and every company they get their hands on.

I haven't played Stafield yet, because I'm not willing to pay anything close to retail for it, so all I know about it is second hand. With that said, the biggest critique I've heard of it was that the stories, from sidequests to main quest, were just boring and forgettable. If that's true, I'm very, very concerned about the future of both FO and ES.

It is or was free with Gamepass. I played it through and it was ok. It got repetitive very quick and the story wasn't good.

A so-called space and planet exploration game where you have to cutscene to take off and land your ship and no planet travel methods is inexcusable. They couldn't even be bothered to throw in a Star Wars speeder bike knockoff
