Happened to me in La.
I was getting checked out in line (because the self check lines were packed). Inserted my credit card, and the checker hands me the receipt and says, "Thank you Robbbobb" (using my legal name / which no one uses). I assumed it showed up on her screen, and she was attempting to personalize our interaction
Was oddly disconcerting for a moment. Especially for a Walmart
