Comical or infuriating? I lean towards the latter.
Look, some stuff just happens to all of us regardless of how many times you’ve launched a boat.
It’s the unforced crap that pisses me off. Idiots who back their boat up to the water, then they hop out and dig the life jackets out of the tow vehicle, coolers, unstrap it, etc. Get that crap ready ahead of time so you can dump the boat in efficiently and quickly move to a parking spot.
The loading sequence is similar. Great, your boat is on the trailer….now move the damn thing out of the way away from the water and that’s where you wipe it down, strap it down, and leave it when you hit the porta potty at the launch.
I used to be a fishing guide so I was on the water a ton going to all types of different lakes and rivers. A lot of really nice launches and a ton of launches that quite frankly suck. With clients I always pointed out the irritating crap other people did that was right in front of us in order to reinforce the courtesy of having your shite ready before you get the boat wet and to get the frick out of the way when it’s on the trailer.
