I have thought Pinedale, Cody, or Sheridan/Buffalo would be nice to live.
Do those places suck too?
Have you ever been to those places during anytime outside of summer?
Do you like snow, extreme wind, black ice and freezing cold from early Sept through late May? If so, more power to you.
I used to think Wyoming would be a great place to live. Then I moved here and began doing a lot of work throughout Wyoming, in all seasons. It is the opposite of Louisiana. Just like Louisiana, there are 2 seasons. For Wyoming, it is a very short, mild summer which is awesome, and then a very long and very bitter winter. You have to remember, Wyoming is a very elevated state. Salt Lake is at about 4200 feet(and it has been snowing here all week). As you drive east on I-80 towards Evanston, you climb to over 6200 feet. Much of Wyoming is over 7000 feet in elevation. The average temp of Wyoming is around 45.
On the plus side, people from Wyoming are some of the nicest people you can find and the hunting is world class. I do hunt mule deer and elk there as well as fly fish during the hopper season.

I had a thick coat of frost and some slush coming down this morning.
