Once, but it was a unique circumstance. I was in my early 20s and working at a psychiatric residential treatment facility for 18 and under. I had been there almost a year (job had a high turnover rate) and applied for a position where I wouldn't be floating between PRTF "houses" and would consistently be with the same kids every day. The position was also with some kids that were in a less restrictive setting, so less restraints and holds/violent behaviors. They told me because my position was so hard to fill and I was doing a "fantastic job" they didn't want to move me. Two days later, one of the newer kids they brought in under some changes in intake criteria broke my coworker's jaw while trying to restrain him. I quit that week.

Thankfully I had been working so much OT that I had a nice savings that allowed me time to look around for something else. I hired in with the local school district about a month later.
