VIRTUE SIGNALING blinds adherents to the obvious axiom that more than one thing can be true simultaneously.

It actually turns human beings into tribal hooting baboons if you want to know the truth.

VIRTUE SIGNALING is the anti-monolith from A Space Odyssey. Instead of elevating humanity it causes it to devolve.

LOL.

All you did was substitute another phrase for populism, then described populism.

Lest you think populism is only about the right, the left has been populist for some time—a lot longer than the right. I've typed that on this board so many times I think I have arthritis at this point.

The left acting like populists is not new. The right becoming infested with populism is what's new. Truck driving, PBR drinking BAWs now talking about "The Establishment" like Abbie Hoffman was 60 years ago. Like it's something new.

Anyway, admitting that someone was being racist when they were clearly being racist is not virtue signaling. It's just being an honest human being. Trying to act like he wasn't really being racist or that it's really the people who pointed it out who are racist, or that he wasn't racist because even if he had never been racist someone would have accused him of it anyway is being a populist shill for your Team.

I'd like for you to notice something. I had nothing to say to the poster above who basically admitted to being racist (meaning that he believes that some races are inferior to others). Frankly, I can buy that there are genetic trends that might be able to be documented that show that some races trend toward higher or lower IQs than others. There might even be other traits that can be studied similarly.

Now, we don't have good information on that because it's not politically correct to do that research. We know that black people in America tend to have lower IQs, but there is evidence that at least some of that is due to environmental conditions. It might be all of it. I doubt we'll ever know.

The point is that I'm not scandalized by the idea of racism (which by definition is what that idea is). Accusing me of that is more populist shilling.

All I am saying is that the frat boy in question absolutely intended to insult the woman in question by communicating that she was a subhuman primate.

Nobody mischaracterized his communication, nobody framed him, nobody combed through years of social media to find an example of him doing it. What offends me is all of y'all attempting to act like he didn't really communicate a message that he knew would be considered hateful and unacceptable in polite society.

If he really believes the message that he so clearly communicated, he should stand up and defend it. Regardless, HE DID COMMUNICATE IT.
