Yeah it’s a dark one for sure. I love that track though, the music is fantastic.
Another one that just came to me is “The Viaduct Love Suicide” by Springtime. Beautiful, in a brutal sort of way.
Farewell to the world
Farewell to the night
Farewell my family
Forgive me this flight
I did my husband’s
Though with him was gone
The last of the good times
For me and our son
When I needed bread
Life gave me stones
That fairytale giant
Made bread from my bones
Hard our communion
A stone for a host
My son you’re so special
So different to most
But most take against
The different as strange
With names if not stones
They take their revenge
But we’re turning to air
That no stone can touch
You made my life, son
I love you so much
And she stepped from the bridge
With her child in her arms
To join with the earth
No providence harms
And wind from the wheat fields
Blows through Bridgehill
And the last light of evening
Falls on Blackhill
And it falls on High Westwood
And Hamsterly Mill
And Newlands and Allensford
And over Swalwell
It falls still on Consett
And Leadgate and Delves
This song is over
Look after yourselves
