Theodore Roosevelt National Park would be the place to check out in ND, it is very isolated way out on the western edge of the state. Late summer/fall is probably the best time to go, Medora is the tourist town in the park that has a bunch of western/cowboy stuff. The park is very scenic with a lot of wildlife, not very busy either since it is so isolated.

Was hoping you'd chime in here. Any reason to fly into Bismarck and do that stretch of ND versus flying into Fargo and hanging out over there? How long do you think I'd need over near that park? I'm actually looking at labor day weekend, either leave Thursday night come back Monday or could leave Friday night come back Monday.
