So, is your existing porch rated to carry the extra weight of the new roof? And you're absolutely gonna need a roofer to put valley metal under your 2 newly created valleys.

I plan on replacing the posts anyway, probably only keep the beams.

Yeah, I don't plan on doing any roof part myself other than maybe what's in that video. Get the plywood up, then let a roofer do that and the silhingles, etc.
