I don’t see who at this point they can replace him with. Who’s it going to be? Gavin Newsom? Mayor Pete? Kamala Harris?
The only one that I can really think of is Michelle Obama, and I don’t think she has any interest whatsoever in that position. She saw her husband age 25 years in eight. Only a crazy person wants to be President, and I think she’d just rather just go on vacations with celebrities and doing Netflix specials.

Who says she wouldn't do that?? - the objective is to get elected, not to serve - hell - look a Joetato. Whoever is pulling the puppet strings since Obama will still be in charge - the figurehead is immaterial - just has to be someone who can lay claim to the "I wuz elected" ploy.
By the time the next presidency rolls around, there will be no pretense about any sort of 'elected' position - they'll keep going thru the motions like they do in other tyrannies - but the outcome will be known to all well ahead of Election Day.
