Gaetz (and others like him) haven't figured out that while fighting back is productive and something we need to do, that doesn't mean that every form of fighting back is productive. It can quickly get into counterproductive territory. It might make your seat even safer, if that's possible, but in the context of national politics it can be a drag on your cause.
