For a series many wouldn't have thought was even necessary, this is impressive.

I've opted out of watching, but for those who are, does it feel like the show is starting to jump the shark? Or is it staying strong.

Sort of like Stranger Things, I'm guessing. The kids are aging out, so to speak , and the series should have probably wrapped up by now.

Same with CK or nah?

This show snatches the shark out of the water and fricks it to death in the very first episode. It is completely meta and is made from the standpoint that it fully acknowledges how silly and cheesy the original trilogy is and leans as heavily as possible into that. And while that may not sound enticing, it absolutely works and makes the show completely enjoyable. It's also genuinely funny as well.

There are some things I don't like about it (the acting isn't great, and the kid actors almost universally suck). But the show itself is great. And what's cool about it is that you don't even really have to be a fan of the movies (or have seen them at all) for the show to be good and make sense (they do a great job with flashbacks to the movies). But if you liked the original movies at all I'd say give this a shot. In terms of a followup series 30 years later after an 80s trilogy of movies, it's fricking perfectly done.
