Watched the finale last night and Les made it seem that it was over forever. Anyone know?

From what I understand this was the series finale.

I love Survivorman. I agree it's way more legit than Man v. Wild.
I think one of the major hardships for Survivorman is that when he's moving on from one place to another he sets up his camera to get the walking shots and then has to go back and get the camera. Thus, he's doing a lot of traveling parts twice. I can see where that would be murder in difficult terrain.
I always wondered why they didn't just have two people. That way it would save on the backtracking and it would still be legit - it would just be a two person survival situation.

They did have that one two man episode. I think he's just running out of locales/motivation. He's covered most every basic terrain, and he probably wants to spend more time with his family and in the outdoors without cameras.
Dude loves nature, though. Didn't honeymoon with his wife, but lived in the Canadian outdoors homeless, living off the land for like 2 years. Wife must be a beast, too.

So do we think its over for good or just for the season? the way he talked it was over for good.

I took it as though "Survivorman" was over, but that maybe there would be a new type of series.. Maybe that's just me..
I have a hard time seeing him walk away from something he loves doing and is getting paid well to do. His stock has never been higher.

I remember seeing a commercial stating it was the series finale. I'm pretty sure its over.

he should change the premise of the show a little and keep it going
maybe do something a little less hardcore and with a camera man

Les Stroud has publicly announced that he will stop filming his popular Survivorman TV series after the third season. Stroud is leaving the highly popular series because he says that "a person can only go without eating for a week at a time, a limited number of times, before it begins to wear on you."

Les films his own stuff, is all by himself, and doesn't stay in hotels.

This show is too good to be over. I can see the series go on with a new Les Stroud.
