If someone ran on the platform of doing nothing- they’d likely lose despite that being the best course.
The liberals are going to do what they think helps their constituents so Low wage voters get a raise thru the minimum wage.
Conservatives do the same in the opposite direction- higher wage voters get tax cuts.
As long as we have this 2 party system, we’re going to have this constant tug at the desire to -do something- with conflicting interests.
“Don’t just sit there- do something” is the motto but in reality it ought to be
“Don’t just do something - sit there. “ that wont get people elected tho.
Even if nothing needed to be done, These days, the parties create crisis. They use the media and social media to blow things out of proportion. Then they react to said crisis.
In actuality, we have market dynamics that can take care of a lot.
Instead they react to contrived needs with useless and often harmful “solutions”
