This has been the struggle within the last several years within the United Methodist Church. Many churches have already taken votes. The ones that have a majority that disagree either join the newly created Global Methodist Church or choose to go independent. Also some Methodist Churches just don’t vote but lets be honest, not voting still puts you on a side since you agree with it but are to afraid to break away.

Is there a way they identify? We left the UMC years back because of the hive thing but absent that it was cool.

Anyone too weak to stand up for their values within their church isn't much of a Christian to begin with.

We are told to be compassionate, not weak.
