It seems the only toolsy guy left is Mitchell who I don’t believe even has an at bat on the season. I was under the impression he was getting a redshirt. Ruddell has gotten some at bats in blowouts and hasn’t done anything.
I don’t know what range Frey would have in CF or if he can even throw a ball. I might could get behind a Larson, Frey, Pearson lineup, but Frey wasn’t exactly lighting it on fire at the plate either.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place right now bc like Boosie said we are still playing for the playoffs, but we also need to get guys experience who we think might be big contributors next season. If Jay truly thinks that Kling will be the guy next year then it makes sense to die on that hill this year. Tools and potential wise, we have Kling and then a gap to everyone else. The trick is if we are patient enough and believe that the light will eventually come on for Kling. I dunno.

With that said what would really suck is if somehow Kling still gets drafted high bc of potential and we basically just wasted this season on his bullshite and don’t develop anyone else.
I trust that Jay will get it right in the end.
