The book on Guidry has been out for a while.
Lay off the hammer and sit dead red. He is not commanding the fastball and it will eventually leak back over the heart of the plate where SEC hitters will feast.

Yep a fast ball that barely hits 90 and leaks over the middle of the plate is a problem. If he was hitting his spots with it then he would be able to use his slider and curve and be effective again.
If he could stay healthy and maybe put on some muscle maybe he could gain some mph on his fastball

yeah the problem is that the curve is a wipeout pitch. he doesnt throw it for strikes. which isnt a problem if its thrown selectively. but batters know to just....not swing at it and take the ball.
