Khan was able to conquer 11,000,000 square miles with no muskets or cannons. Still pretty damn impressive. But yeah as soon as he died and muskets became more mainstream the Mongol empire collapsed like a deck of cards

This is not true at all. Eventually the Mongol empire split into several smaller but still Mongol empires. Genghis was in the 1200s. Firearms were used by the Russians to kick out the Golden Horde hundred of years later. I want to say the 1500s, without googling it.
