Willie and the Armadillo World headquarters was a much bigger driver and influence on what Austin became/is than the 80's poser /try-hards
that was real those traditions are still the Austin "the Slackers" tried to be
the Slackers are today's homeless

Much of the “old Austin” aka Keep Austin Weird character got eaten up with the emergence of the tech playground
