I'd prefer we fix our garbage government instead of pumping out people for them to tax.

Again, that's fine as long as you don't care about your SS/Medicare benefits.
Lots of people say what you just said until it finally gets through to them that "fixing our garbage government" means those two things go away first.
They deny it for some time until enough facts get presented that it becomes an inevitable conclusion.
