We always had no problem stocking bass and black crappie (along with catfish and bream). However, the white perch never reproduced. The specs (see what I am doing here) would just keep betting bigger and bigger and few and fewer until you caught them all out. Then we would restock more sac-a-laits.
(Please see my other post about my pond's pH and this comment is about the time before that went bonkers. Maybe the pH levels kept them from reproducing. We also never had much structure in the pond, just a few tree tops along the edge so my mom could catch bream.)
