I had a bloodhound run into and impale herself on a hayspear 2 weeks ago, end result was a puctured lung sac and loss of a circular section of hair/skin/outer fat ~12 inches in diameter. She required 2 seperate surgeries, one to repair the sac(which also needed x-rays for diagnosis), the other to remove damaged tissue and suture, each requiring Anesthesia. She's staying at the vet's clinic for 4 weeks so they can carefully monitor/care & rewrap the wounds ad-hoc as she requires around the clock supervision & any rolling/rapid movement can re-open the sutures/impede the healing. The total charges are $4000. Just think what a hospital would bill for similar services
