Just call them and tell them - it’s a covered loss. They will want to inspect though.
The biggest thing they are looking for is actual signs of rodent damage. And they are looking to make sure that it hasn’t happened over a long period of time (like you abandoned a broken done car and are now trying to get it fixed). One of the things that can get it denied is if it isn’t sudden and accidental. If they find a full nest in there, it’s more likely to get denied.
