The baseline for the American female definition of "making something of yourself" has reached delusional level status, thanks largely to social media. Most American women, even those who are below average to mediocre, are so entitled that they believe they should be dating a 6' tall millionaire. But because these men are few and far between, most women settle for the guy who has objectively made something of himself, just not to the degree that the woman feels entitled. Then after a decade and two kids, she wants to "find herself" because she thinks she can do better, leaving a broken family in her path. The MGTOW movement is a direct result of this.
