I got back into the dating game at 35 after being married for 13 years. It was rough. A couple of friends of mine were in similar situations and were all over the dating apps. The amount of drama and shite that would go down was popcorn worthy. So I stayed off those, focused on building my business and going to the gym. Even being in construction and fire/ems, I'd quit doing a lot of the work I did when I was younger.
I met my wife after we'd both completed a Tough Mudder. I was 36 and she had just turned 31. Our second date was a spartan race. She was in GREAT shape, never married, high school teacher that also trains horses, owned her own house, masters degree with no student loan debt, all her vehicles paid off. Neither of us had kids. We bought a ranch property a couple years ago and have a 19 month old daughter now.
There's no way I would have pulled that unicorn if I hadn't taken the time to get myself right after my divorce.
