Are you completely removed from reality? Do you have any idea how many people will not vote for a Republican if they’re pro-life? It’s a shite load. It’s up there with people who won’t vote for Trump because “he’s a racist.”
Keep ignoring pro lifers at your own peril.

It’s an issue I care about morally. This would set an absolute terrible precedent to not exert the one way i can change my party’s position.
You want to kneel starting in the 3rd quarter and play prevent defense because we finally got the lead in the second.
Why would I be satisfied with a purely symbolic measure where Louisiana children getting murdered in California?

You think "we" are in the lead on abortion?

Because you are not going to go from abortion legal everywhere to abortion being banned everywhere in one fell swoop.
Why is this so hard for you to understand?

Or what?
Sorry, but you have little to no power over anything. Sit home and refuse to vote and GOP candidates lose. GOP goes full abortion ban and millions of people vote against them.
You do not win in any scenario at this time. You should be working to swing the pendulum back but you won't consider that. It's all or nothing for you.
And you will end up with nothing.

Not trying to be insulting, but it sounds like you need to spend more time outside of Louisiana. The pro-lifers are not in the lead and haven’t been for quite some time. The anticipated red wave that didn’t happen in 2022 was almost solely because of Roe v Wade being overturned. Pro life will destroy Republicans. More of the country is pro choice today than they were 10 years ago. The momentum won’t swing back. People who are pro-choice aren’t going to convert to being pro-life simply because a pro-life candidate gets elected from time to time.
Let’s put it this way: abortion wasn’t even made federally illegal. And it still cost Republicans a red wave. That’s how unpopular pro-life is on a grand scale. People don’t even care that many states won’t be affected, they just don’t want a pro-lifer in office. It does not matter that you think it’s dumb. It does not matter if you think it’s immoral. It matters how they vote, and they are not going to vote the way you want them to, no matter what you say.

That’s fine, just know that the more that Republicans run on it, the more they will be hurt by it. Republicans can either cave, or Democrats will gain more and more power on that platform alone and force Republicans to cave. It ends the same way.

What about the bodily autonomy of the baby. By your logic a parent could kill their 3 old because he was forcing them to provide

I can start naming statewide elections in swing states if youd like.
Good candidates win.

Roe V wade was struck down.
Probably the biggest GOP win in anything in 30+ years

You named three governors and three in Congress.
Fart in a hurricane.
btw-As I recall you named DeSantis. Florida does not have the abortion ban you insist upon.

Florida six week abortion ban law
Also what happens to the local house candidates if Trump wins big going leftward on these issues? They will go leftward. The only way I stop that is to vote Yay for pro lifers and Nay/withhold vote for pro choicers.
ETA you progressively make the weeks more and more restrictive. Dont have to start at 6 or 8.
Show ultrasound pictures at a debate. Quote stats about when a heartbeat occurs. When does a baby hear in the wound? Ask Joe if he would feel comfortable telling a baby who can hear "Im going to abort you"
Make it an emotional issue with mothers but in the opposite way that pro choice has done.

Then this country is gone. I used to be pro-choice. I've watched my wife lose our unborn children through miscarriages. She will likely never be able to have children, which is a psychological toll on both of us at our age. And then I see these women at pro-choice rallies and on social media bragging about how many abortions they've had. It's absolutely ghoulish. The pro-choice movement is now pro-abortion. The mass murder of children is no longer simply a choice, it's become a virtuous act. It's repulsive.

Oh, so now you are not for a 100% ban?
That is all you have talked about and now a 6 week ban is ok.
So 6 weeks is good but 15 weeks, which Trump has floated, is a deal breaker.
btw-You do know that Ron Johnson won by a count hair over a guy that makes AOC seem almost reasonable, right?
Three senators out of 100 is not what you need. And pro abortion ban senatorial challengers will not win outside the bible belt.
There is no arguing that fact although I am sure you will try.

15 was great start with me and more than I thought to start I said so in the thread.

Oh I’m sorry.
I forgot a close win doesn’t count my bad
Do you feel comfortable telling a baby that can hear that you are going to abort them?

So you're voting for Trump now?

Johnson was an incumbent. It makes a difference. And he still almost lost to a complete left wing nut in a swing state.
And Johnson winning does not help you in your goal. He's already in the Senate. You need a lot more. Not just tread water.

You won't like my answer at all.

He reversed that weeks later and said he doesn’t want federal action. Hence him losing my support

It won’t surprise me.
I definitely think you are in the minority on that.
Do I think 51% of America is on board with 8 weeks? No. Particularly put in those terms as simply weeks.
Do I think 51% of people would have a problem aborting a baby who has a heartbeat can hear (later than 8 weeks mind you) and can hear their mother, father and the Drs voice? Yes.
You have to change the framing. Which is a simple thing.

It's not a federal issue and should not be made one.
Trump is actually right on something.
The thing is, if your wish for a pro abortion ban congress came about Trump would not veto the legislation.
Any democrat would.

We won’t get a pro life Congress when the leader of the party signals to not go any further and constantly is backtracking on the issue.

You wouldn't get a pro life congress with DeSantis as head of the party.
You refuse to see this and I'm done with you. Like talking to a wall.
