It may well be that Israel baited Iran with the assassination of that top General, knowing that Iran is getting close to having their nukes and looking for an excuse to level their nuke program.
Saddam made the mistake of attacking before he had the nuke, and it got him a rope around his neck. Mullahs are smarter than that.
