It was a mistake to try to fight off people with superior technology and a more advanced culture, as well as organization skills to build better infrastructure. Should have pulled a Mexico and realized they lost before it started. Mexico built the 13th largest economy in the world. Instead, the Native Americans are nearly extinct, the white man beat them at their own game.
Israel does not have that problem. Palestine does.
