I did Malibu and La Jolla last summer for less than gulf coast. I’m done going there
Show us the place you stayed?
You guys are likely comparing beachfront condos to places with low demand in California, Hawaii, etc.
LSU444 showed a picture of Waikiki that's clearly not on the beach.
If you don't want the beach, you can to the Wharf in Orange beach for pretty damn cheap.
You can go stay somewhere like Seascape in Destin.
Tons of those places on the gulf coast you can get a multiple bedroom condo for under $400/ night, its in a low demand area that's NOT beachfront. That doesn't mean its not "nice". I'd love to see a 3 bedroom condo that's beachfront in Malibu or Hawaii for $400/ night.
Also, the summer is the busiest time along the gulf coast and Atlantic coast. Its NOT the busiest time elsewhere like Naples, fl, Key West, Caribeean, etc. I'm not sure about Hawaii and certain parts of California.
