The entire appeal of Drudge was that it was a news aggregator for journalism that ran contrary to the mainstream media narrative. If ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/WAPO/NYT/CNBC, etc were all covering the same story from the same point of view using the same language, you could go to Drudge and not just find an opposing viewpoint, but like 20 other stories those sources aren’t even bothering to cover.
After it was bought out, it just became an aggregater for the same mainstream sources I used to go to Drudge ti avoid. If I wanted to read those sources, I wouldn’t go to drudge. I would just read the homepage of any search engine, go on any social media platform, turn on a tv, or head to the AP’s website. By changing Drudge’s aggregation, it destroyed the only reason anyone used it.
