The tipping panhandling problem is so bad now that I literally decide if I want to pick up some food based on whether I want to deal with the tip issue or not.
Let me pull the curtain back some though on another side of how this is pushed. The banks holding the cards, the CC provider, and the merchant services company providing the payment platform all make a % on the total billed. So if they can bump up the total billed amount per transaction that increases the money they make through CC sales. So think about it, they are getting 25% to 35% more sales due to tipping.

Extremely interesting point. Well done.

On the other hand, I think generosity is important and sometimes those folks don't make much or have a lot. I do it sometimes knowing it helps another person in their life. Call me cheesy. Idc
