True but by putting the 10 commandments (a christian doctrine) up it would be preventing the free exercise of non-christian religions.
Also I dont want the state/schools teaching my kid anything about any religion

the 10 commandments predates Christ and is used by non-christians (as in the Jews) too, not just Christians.
