you want to lose fat, not muscle. You need muscle because if you lose muscle you will just become skinny fat. Just because the weight shows you being lighter doesn't mean you're healthier. You can eat a ton of protein, stay the same weight but look leaner. You need to lose fat

I'm curious to know how much protein a middle aged, overweight person needs? My guess is not that much. If they have low muscle mass, it probably has more to do with getting little to no exercise versus not getting enough protein. Most Americans take in way more protein than they need.

The problem is most protein is icky
And can you imagine asking Burger King just to give you the meat? They’d probably laugh at you
