One of the best games I’ve seen LSU softball play. Southeastern brought their A+ game. You have to be mentally tough after going 0-10 w RISP and having game-tying homer taken away by fantastic play by RF. What a game. These Lady Tigers are not only super-talented but they have BIG time mental toughness as well. This game was just another example. Also, Southeastern had won 10 in a row and had 33 victories on the season. They gave LsU all they had. What a game! Geaux Tigers!

Need to give Chaffin some credit for settling the Lions down.

Mind telling me more about the play in RF? And who hit the walk off? Thought this thread was gonna be rolling

The problem there is that SLU celebrated that play like they won the world series. It was an awesome play, no doubt, but the way they carried on tempted Karma and Karma can be a bitch.
SLU us a very good team and they played their asses off. This was a good win for LSU. It took a lot of clutch hits, Chaffin getting out of 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the 7th, and Newland ending the 8th with that incredible catch.
Then after the great plays by SLU on the Briggs bunt and the Pleasants ball to right, Gutierrez worked a walk, Redoutey went with a pitch and singled, and Petty got her 2nd big hit of the night to end it.
LSU doesn't always win in the smoothest manner and there are some flaws to be sure, but damn if they don't figure out ways to win. I don't think it's luck. It's just kids who are mentally tough and experienced and never quit. I'll take a team like that any day. They are fun to root for.
