Well that wasn't really the question, its if they got teleported and immediately started playing.

The answer depends on the position and sport though.

I think baseball players would be fine. The average player is a better athlete now, but you don't have to be a great athlete to be a good baseball player.

For the NBA the stars back then were athletic anyway, so I don't think you'd see a huge shift.

I'd love for someone to try to say Dan Marino wouldn't set the world on fire in today's offenses... but some of the LBs from back then would be getting absolutely cooked because you have to cover a lot more now as a LB.
