Zedey will be drafted before any LSU players for sure.

Uh, yeah most likely? Edey is the two time national player of the year and LSU is rebuilding their program from the ground up.

He's a throwback NBA center in a style of play that really doesn't exist anymore. If you are an NBA center you have to be able to handle the ball a bit, score in more ways that simply with your back to the basket, and shoot 3's reasonably well, along with blocking shots. Purdue hasn't asked Edey to do much of that.
This isn't necessarily true. Guys like Jarret Allen show you can be a prominant big without an outside game, you just need to be able to rim run and protect the rim. Edey's problem is he's not nearly the athlete that Allen or even Capella are. But still, you have players like nurkic, Zubac, Gobert, and Mitchell Robinson who are good, effective centers that have little to no outside game. Gobert and Mitch Rob have played a combined 17 seasons in the NBA and have taken a combined 17 threes, having zero makes They are, however, elite rim protectors.

I think one thing about his game that gets overlooked is his ability to reset in the paint and not get three second calls. That will be hugely beneficial in the NBA. He's got a spot in the league, but as others have said, he's likely a late first/early second guy.

I wouldn't mind him on the pelicans. If Walker Kessler can average 23 minutes a game, I don't see why Edey can't be a space filling, rim protecting big who sets hard screens and rolls for 15 minutes a night. Especially against teams that love attacking the paint/don't have a 5 who can stretch the floor reliably.
