My son got away from almost all composites a while back. There is just a wide disparity in performance in them even with same models. The break in seems different on each, then add in the constant busted bat issue and the cold weather issues. I am a big fan of all Marucci prducts, but the Atlas is his gamer this year. He is 14 and has had bbcor for 2 years, so I dont konw much about the new models. Best bat he ever had was an alloy Rawlings Velo when he as 10 or 11. Got it for 100 bucks on a clearance rack somewhere, just liked the look of it and damn it was awesome. of the dozens of bats we have bought for him, he keeps it in the closet so I dont give it away.
