cat x comp is built to take around 2000 swings. should be fine with cage hitting but its only gonna last him a year before he needs bigger size anyways and it comes with a year warranty. it sucks but kids grow so damn fast they need a new size almost every year. maybe not every one but if you can get season and a half from a bat, thats amazing. 2 is almost unheard of unless you buy a size too big and have choke up knobs.

its fine to use with the driveline plyo weighed balls but i would not hit any other type of weighed balls with it. the connection piece could become comprised using the harder rubber kind that weigh 16oz
