Unless the sunglasses stop 99.997% of visible light, UV-A and UV-B, and at least 97% of infrared light…….yeah. The “fake material” bests it. Almost all sunglasses let in a 1000x more UV light.

A welding shield lens is the best thing to use. Not cutting goggles.
