Where did that information come from?
Ultimately? The big bang.

What does your persistent hammering of this question have to do with evolution?

Do you think your car is an illusion? Or was it intelligently designed?
Intelligently designed, of course. What's that got to do with evolution though?
quote:

Cosmic Constants
-Gravitational force constant
-Electromagnetic force constant
-Strong nuclear force constant
-Weak nuclear force constant
-Cosmological constant
These are the handful of rules that govern the universe, as referred to in my Game of Life example above. I don't think either of us is equipped to discuss why the constants have the values they do, but if we did it would probably go something like this. I will suggest that these constants could have different values and the universe would still exist but look and work differently. Or, maybe the values are random and the universe just bang-crunched until we got to where we are. Or maybe there are infinite universes and these are just the values in ours. And you will say that obviously this is the one and only universe, and the one and only iteration of it, and these values were precisely and intelligently tuned by the magic man.

Close?
quote:

-Initial Conditions and “Brute Facts
-Initial distribution of mass energy Ratio of masses for protons and electrons
-Velocity of light
-Mass excess of neutron over proton
These could probably be much different and the universe would still be here and just look and work differently.
quote:

-“Local” Planetary Conditions
-Steady plate tectonics with right kind of geological interior
-Right amount of water in crust
-Large moon with right rotation period
-Proper concentration of sulfur
-Right planetary mass
-Near inner edge of circumstellar habitable zone
-Low-eccentricity orbit outside spin-orbit and giant planet resonances
-A few, large Jupiter-mass planetary neighbors in large circular orbits
-Outside spiral arm of galaxy
-Near co-rotation circle of galaxy, in circular orbit around galactic center
-Within the galactic habitable zone
-During the cosmic habitable age-
These qualities are likely to be found all over the universe.

That’s a very broad, sweeping statement. Narrow it down, be specific, and let’s talk about it. I used to think the same thing. Until I really looked into it.
I'd really rather not.
