I think part of Jay’s dilemma is that what works pitching wise in Omaha can be disastrous

most everywhere else.

In Omaha, just throw it down the middle half most of the time, and get a lot of fly ball warning track outs. Riley Cooper did it the entire world series.

That same outing yesterday by Ack is a “great outing” in Omaha but a disaster here.

We have to somehow get guys that can induce more swings and misses at these other ballparks while not issuing the walks. Easier said than done but that’s why he gets paid the big bucks.

How many almost homers did cooper give up in omaha? I dont remember any. All i remember are some strikeouts, couple singles, groundballs, and liner right back at him

Jay’s dilemma

Jay needs to keep recruiting. He had one of the most talented teams ever last year and it still took half a dozen miracles to win it all. It took us 5 home runs to beat Oregon state 6-5 in the regional last year. Who knows what happens if we lose that game. There’s a fine line between bust and greatness

Jay is too addicted to analytics and lacks intuition.

Sometimes you go with your gut over the data.

Last year's CWS might have had the most HRs since moving to TD Ameritrade

I don’t agree with anything in this post.

I don’t think throwing quality strikes plays poorly anywhere. And, so far our pitchers are not throwing very many of those. Pitching hanging off speed and fastballs in the middle of the plate doesn’t play anywhere.
