It started out alright, but then got a little redundant. The casting kinda took me out of it since it's 20s , 30s Russia. There was so much story to be told in that time period, but I felt that each episode was a repeat of the last one in a way. The time jumps and the hotel aspect was engaging initially. It's been awhile since I read the book and frankly don't remember it that well.

I haven’t read she book so I don’t have the context but there is nothing even remotely positive about the Bolsheviks or communists being portrayed. Especially tonight’s episode

Shows desperate people willing to do anything

It’s been obvious for sometime that the hotel portrays a false narrative with ample food and wine to try and fool foreigners when life outside is much, much worse
