Ethnic food experiment

So I’m trying something out tomorrow and was just gonna get the boards thoughts. Mediterranean food is one of my family’s favorites. My go to at home is gyro, chicken shawarma or both with lemon rice and Greek salad with lots of tzatziki and hummus on the side with pita bread. I’ve been thinking about trying my hand at Indian food, butter chicken to be exact. It looks delicious and I like Chicken Tikka Masala. So I’m gonna buy Naan bread to go with it which I often use in place of pita. Was thinking of making tzatziki to go with it on the side. Apparently there is a similar item in Indian food called raita also are from yogurt and cucumber but it’s probably too chunky for my kids and wife. The flavor profile of tzatziki seems like it would be the perfect foil for a curry like butter chicken and I know it goes great with Naan. Am I off my rocker or do y’all think this could work?

Try methi matar malai. It's incredible.

If you are just asking if tzatziki will go well with butter chicken, I can’t tell ya. It’s probably not bad. Why not just make two small batches of both tzatziki and raita? They share some ingredients. Then that will let your wife and kids try it to see if they like it. If they don’t, then you will have the tzatziki which will at least go well with the naan.

Occasionally I just google "ethnic chicke recipes" or "hispanic", "latin", "asian", etc, and just start perusing recipes. I've stumbled onto some really good stuff. Chicken thighs are pretty universal when it comes to cooking.

My experience is that raita is thin with more emphasis on the moist cucumber. Tzatziki is much thicker with an emphasis on the flavor of dense full-fat Greek yogurt...almost like cream cheese. For balancing the heat of spicy India food, I'd go with raita.
A less common way to enjoy spicy India is to drink salt lassi... a drink of water-diluted plain yogurt iced & whipped up with salt to taste and little cumin. Give it a few trys... it grows on you.
