Been used to treat diabetes for 10 years or so, I think. Similar medications have been studied for around 20, although I could be wrong.

I know several orthopedic docs who were against taking that medicine off the market. It did have side effects when used long tern for things like arthritis, but they felt it was still a good drug for treating things that were short term injuries.

My mom is on zepbound. She’s losing weight very rapidly and she is extremely overweight. She naturally only wants to consume about 500 calories per day on it. Is there any health concerns from the extreme calorie deficit? I tried to look but didn’t see any research related to that with the drug.
