And she’s able to carry on whoring about for another 10-15 years after that scene.
I’d have to go back and watch the movie again but the timeline seemed to suggest she wasn’t in drugs when she got the aids.

She had hepatitis.
The movie set it up to imply AIDS so it would fit the overall theme of major events.
