It’s just not reliable and a bad way to judge players. Better than the average Joe’s eye test but thinking it’s a good way to judge a possible transfer is dumb.
PFF is literally used by NFL teams, its not debatable there.
Agian, some player or two hating it doesnt make it invalid. Again, the whole idea here is it' a large collection of data over EVERY snap a player plays. Is everything going to be 100% "right"? Of course not, but over a large collection of data it should make sense generally speaking. This is why it makes sense to use a source like PFF when literally nobody on here has watched more than a half or two of a guy like Patrick Jenkins even play.
Who would you trust more, an unbiased impartial service who grades every single snap of a player or someone who comes on here and goes "he looked great in that 1 half of that 1 game of his 4 year career".
You gotta understand that. People rip into PFF all the time yet have zero alternative to whats a better source other than to say "but look at this 1 example!" The whole idea is it's a great additional source to use to learn about a player you HAVEN'T been watching much. Even players you watch play like LSU every game, you might not have a good feel for a lot of them because again the issue almost every human being has casually watching a game is you only remember the very good or very bad a player did in a game. So maybe you remember 3 of some persons 70 snaps, but thats only a small representation of their overall play in those 3 snaps you remember from a game.

JJ Watt stated in that interview that it’s not just kinda off at times. He said that the PFF grades would be night and day from the coaches grades. And I assure the coaches know more than the pff guys.
