Indeed
Take a 20yo young man. No wife, no kids. Like more than half the country, he didn't go to college. He's working at the grocery store making $10/hr and has been there for 2 years. He lives in rural LA.
What the frick good does Indeed do for him? He's not qualified for any sort of remote position. He wouldn't mind going to school but the nearest tech school is a 60 min ride, but his piece of shite 1998 pickup truck can't be trusted to make that ride. He's sharing rent with 3 friends, his rent, truck insurance as a 20yo, phone, and his share of utilities is eating up his entire paycheck.
Again, what's the solution here? What do you tell this young man? Join the military? So young people should be forced to be put in a position to die just to establsih themselves? This is your idea of the US?
But wait, the grocery store is now going to pay him $20/hr. Not because they're forced to, but because they recognize that $10/hr isn't enough to live on. He's been there two years and deserves a sizable raise.
How much does that young man's future outlook improve based on receiving fairer compensation at age 20? Enormously. It improves enormously. People need to get paid what they're worth and hiring American workers, who have gone through the American education system, who have shown some semblance of a work ethic, NEED to be compensated. This young man isn't some Guatemalan dude fresh off the boat willing to work for pennies...he's an American citizen, yet treated by his corporate overlords as some sort of alien who deserves nothing.
