I think people who think this way are missing the fact that literally nobody gives a frick about the WNBA.

Her popularity score, or whatever these companies use to determine people’s value, is going to plummet. The end of the line for women’s sports (outside tennis or golf) is college. Fans will cheer for their school no matter what. Plus the passion of college kids playing for enjoyment and pride (I realize this is debatable now because of NIL) far outweighs watching pro events.

I could not name two active WNBA players. I couldn’t tell you what teams are good or bad. I’ve never watched a game in my life. These girls are moronic for not staying in college as long as they can. They’ll be a fart in the wind once they leave school. Caitlin Clark is really their only hope since she plays like a mediocre dude playing against girls. She could probably move the WNBA needle a little bit, but not nearly as much as she does at Iowa. She’d also be an idiot to turn down the Big 3 offer for the same reason. Once they lose their popularity from the novelty of college sports fandom, that’s a wrap on their relevancy. No matter how many times ESPN forces the homepage to be covered in WNBA news. Nobody gives a shite about the WNBA and nobody ever will
