Crawfishing in the old rice patties around Ponchatoula
Scooping crabs in Lake Ponchartrain
Fishing in the Rigolets, Lacombe, Lake Borne
Picking huckleberries and blackberies and mayhaw
Digging holes in the woods, cover with sticks and pinestraw so no one could follow you
Climbing Magnolia trees to the top until you were swaying back and forth praying the top wouldn't snap off
Swimming and skiing in the Tchefuncte
Being gone from home all day long and nobody cared
