Those were the glory days of LSU basketball, even with the disappointing tourney results.

I was a young lad and would chalk SEC logos into my driveway while I popped imaginary threes like LSU legend Mahmoud Abdul Rauf. I remember pilfering the SI issue with him on the cover from our gradeshool library the day it came out.

Wasn’t that the only year they all played together? Chemistry and experience in a system is sometimes more important than pure talent

The glory days were roughly 1979-1987.IMO.
